What Are You Doing With Your 24 Hours?
We are all given 24 hours. The bottom line is what are we doing with the given time? Are we making the best use of it? It’s understandable that everyone is in different situations. Some may be extending their hours to others more than what they are using for themself. Others may not have enough energy to do anything but drag through. Then there are those who are carefree and are just living from moment to moment. When they look around, they realize they didn’t live life, life lived them. Last but least, there are those who are making the best use of their 24 hours. When I assess my life for the last 50 years. Yes 50 years… over a half century, I have mixed emotions about what I have done and am doing with my 24 hours. Although, I have accomplished a lot, I realize I could have accomplished more. I realize that I did give more of my 24 hours to others than I used for myself. Do I regret it? No, because I believe I sacrificed my 24 hours to assist someone else in need. I can’t get that time back; but from this point forward I can make sure that I put more of my 24 hours into me.
What am I doing with my 24 hours? Realizing I have more time behind me than in front of me…realizing the hands of time will one day come to a screeching stop, I am intentionally living life and not letting life live me. I’m giving God the start and end of the day, doing me - but working on a vision of helping multitudes along the way. As one of my friends said, “because you are a nurturer.” That is true, but I do realize that it is time to nurture myself more, follow my dreams, accomplish my goals, have fun, and travel. - with no guilty feelings. My sons constantly remind me this is what I should be doing.
