ARE YOU OPEN TO RECEIVE ?
Starting my NEW day and NEW year, I like to read the word of God. I ask Him to speak to me through His word. I also like to share what I receive and am given the opportunity through prayer lines and all whom I encounter. This morning, “seek ye first the kingdom of God (Matthew 6:33) and putting on the whole armor of God (Ephesian 6:10-18) were laid in my spirit. What powerful instructions to start the year!
I’ve learned from reading the bible, that what we encounter in life is nothing new. I’ve also learned that for my living not to be in vain and for the strength and power I need to endure and overcome trails and tests, I must get to know God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit (the Trinity) better. I must study and mature in the word of God. I must be opened to receive all that God has prepared for me. His word tells us in Jeremiah 29:11), “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” I receive the spoken words. As I journey through this life…this new year, I thank you Lord for never leaving me - in Jesus’ name.
The word of God also tells us in Isaiah 43:19 “I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.” Revelation 21:5 also tells us, He who sat on the throne, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.” The word of God does not return void. It is a strong foundation unto my feet. It makes my crooked paths straight, and it is a light in this world of darkness. The good news is, the word of God is for EVERYONE! We are given a freedom of choice. All we have to do is receive it apply the word of God to our lives! I thank God for bringing newness in our lives. Lord, forgive us of our sins through thought, deeds, and actions. Take any regrets, bad choices, self-destructive choices, and failed tests of life and turn them into new beginning. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen
