Life’s Unplanned Journeys

Have you ever made plans, but unexpected circumstances took you to living within bible scriptures – or perhaps a divine assignment? January 17, 2025, I received a phone call from one of my aunts. She asked if I was at my niece’s home. I had just gotten off work and was on my way home. The call led me to detour to my niece’s home. Upon arrival, there were five (5) police cars and two (2) social workers in the process of placing my four great-nieces and one nephew in those cars. They were preparing to separate and transport them anywhere within the state of North Carolina. I immediately began to ask questions. Within one hour after arriving on the scene, I was loading up five (5) children to bring to my home.

This was a life-changing event – mainly for me, the children, and their mother. By, by the grace of God, I continue to teach, nurture, and love on the children. My plans were far from my current journey. However, I realize it’s God’s will, his plan, and his way – as confirmed by scripture.

Isaiah 55:8-10 Common English Bible

8 My plans aren’t your plans, nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord.
9 Just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways,
   and my plans than your plans. 10 Just as the rain and the snow come down from the sky
   and don’t return there without watering the earth, making it conceive and yield plants and providing seed to the sower and food to the eater,
